The Inner
Balance.

Inner weather.

Work about the forces that hold a life together, the moments when they fail, and what remains afterwards.

James Bailey’s practice moves between lived psychology, memory, intimacy and the architecture of survival. The work is personal without asking to be read as confession alone.

Selected bodies of work

Two very different archives.

One maps emotional states through fire, water, structure and containment. The other turns private memory and physical traces into a deliberately formal gallery object.

A note on method

Art as a way of making the invisible visible.

The images are not diagnostic diagrams. They are lived maps: visual shorthand for pressure, regulation, rupture, memory, humour and the odd stubborn mechanics of carrying on.
